Every day, as soon as the day changes, Facebook shows us our memories and everything we have uploaded to this particular social media. The truth is that I no longer upload anything about my relationships, and after my breakups, I create a new profile and thus save myself from having to update daily where I was and what I did with my exes from here.
So let me list 7 memories that I would never, ever want Facebook to remind me of:
- The photos of me and the guy from our outings, either alone or with our common company.
- The countless check-ins we made on our outings and vacations
- The dedications we made to each other with poems, photos or songs
- The sweet and salty comments full of honey under songs and photos
- Changing your status from "Single" to "Relationship" or "Engaged"
- Our most buzzy and sweet duck face photos
- The food we ate or the drinks we drank and took pictures of them - yes, let's not lose them and upload them too -
Fortunately, Facebook doesn't remind us of the thousands of messages we once exchanged with our exes or the yelling we used to throw at each other during our breakup or even afterwards.
I can tell you that I'm glad I don't have any memories with my exes on social media because I would have to delete them every day and from a notification and of course all my exes are blocked, because it's not worth it for anyone to be stuck in the past as if I'm Penelope still waiting for Odysseus.
Don't forget, too, that the real memories we make with a person while we are in a relationship are only in the mind and heart and don't fade easily, but they take time to fade and a lot of strength.
What other memory would you not want Facebook to show you and have you already deleted it?
Ps And because as I said above, memories are in the mind and in the heart, listen to the song that Anna Vissi sang:
And I have so much to remember from you: years we lived together one by one, silent hours and nights in love, and you keep asking me where they went.
