Being friends with your ex requires a strong stomach.

If you asked me years ago I would have told you that I don't stay friends with my ex. If you ask me now I will tell you that I stayed friends with my ex.

No, I'm not abnormal, but I wanted to test my limits and my endurance. Sometimes I feel like a friend, other times I'm drowning and emotions come out of me that you know you should bury.

When I recently tried to talk to him, he, rightly so, told me to move away.

Then something changed inside me and instead of saying yes because that's the logical thing to do, I decided to bury my feelings and stay friends with him.

And I'm not staying friends with him to repay him for the pain he caused me, nor to blame him for not succeeding as a couple, I'm staying friends with him because he put up with me for 8 months and he still puts up with me.

I don't know where this will lead us, but I know that without my best friend I'm not okay because he's always there to make me laugh even when I yell at him.
